Kate Update

In the midst of the chaos of the past few weeks, I realize I have been hogging all the attention on the blog.  I haven't recorded any of what Kate's been up to lately!  Bad Mommy.
Kate has really grown and changed so much just in the short time that I have been on bed rest, it's hard to believe it has only been about 2 months.  Joe took her for her first haircut.  I was REALLY sad I could not be there for this milestone event, but we decided that it was most definitely time to chop off some of that dead baby hair.  Joe made me feel better by telling me she did great and it really took all of 5 minutes to cut it.  Hopefully I'll be able to take her for her next one.  She is also talking up a storm!  Any time she wants more of ANYTHING (food, drink, tv show, play, anything!!!) she says, "More, more, more!" over and over again.  When she does something bad, like making a mess in the floor, spilling her food/juice, when we ask her, "who did this, Kate?" she blames everything on her Papa.  No matter what it is, her answer is always, "Papa!"  Not really sure why she does this, seeing as he is also one of her most favorite people, but it is quite humorous, nonetheless!  She learned the word "tractor" and loves to watch them in action.  She loves to be outside and play in her little swimming pool, and loves to play with her neighbors, Morgan and Emily.  Here is a pic of Morgan and Kate playing in the pool one day; excuse photo quality, it was taken with Joe's very tired Blackberry---just like about all the photos we have from the past 2 months...

What else?  She is still sleeping like a champ in her new room--loves naptime and bedtime!  Oh how blessed we are!  We try to talk to her here and there about her two little brothers joining us soon, but we are mostly met with blank stares.  She is still so little I am not quite sure she understands any of it.  We are praying she responds well to their arrival!  She is very hooked on her Daddy right now, for obvious reasons.  When he walks into a room, she squeals in delight and just turns giddy, running up to him and throwing her arms around him.  It is a precious sight.  And she calls him, "Dad-dy," unlike many other babies who say, "Da-da" at this age.  I love it.  When he leaves a room, she calls for him and goes a-looking.  She wants to know where he is at all times.  Kate's favorite tv show is "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse." Especially the "Hot Dog Dance" at the end of the show.  She makes us rewind it a couple times for her each time because she likes to dance to the song around the living room.

Kate also has a temper.  When she is aggravated or frustrated, she takes her fists and shakes them while gritting her teeth and jutting out her lower jaw while saying, "Grrrrrrr!"  And then if you're really lucky, she'll drop to the floor for an all-out tantrum.  Not unlike her Mommy at this age, from what I understand ;)  But these really are few and far between.  She is such a great, generally laid-back baby, who goes with the flow and just lights up our lives.  We plan to begin Mother's Day Out at First Baptist Augusta in the Fall 2 days a week, along with cousin Will.  A knot forms in my throat each time I think about taking her to "school" for the first time, even if it is MDO just twice a week!  She has grown up so fast, it's heart-wrenching!  My heart breaks to think I have "missed" these past 2 months with her!  I try to remind myself as difficult a time as we have had with this pregnancy and as crazy stressful as our lives are going to be once these twins arrive, I hope and pray that we truly savor and enjoy the tiny-ness.  It is such a precious, precious time and it goes by far too fast.
