Summertime, Summertime, Sum-Sum-Summertime...

Just a typical morning at our house...

My friend Lindsay introduced me to these baby food pouches recently...you'd think after 3 children I'd have this stuff figured out!  Wish I had tried these before, the boys really like them!  Thanks again Lindsay!

Kate went to her friend Claire's Princess Party this past weekend.  It was the most precious party!  Two little Snow White's enjoying cake and ice cream :)

Nothing sweeter...

Frozen yogurt date

The boys liked it!

And of course so did Kate...ice cream face :)

Both John & Matthew just recently started holding their own bottles.  Glad they figured this out just a few weeks before we stop bottles.  Ha!

Sweet boys...already sharing.  I'm sure sharing will never be an issue with these 2 ;)

Afternoon at the pool!

Sweetness...

...and more sweetness.

Matthew...I think we're going to need haircuts soon!  Getting so big :(

John

Silly John...on the move

My precious girl!

Today's Lesson

Never leave your keys in the center console while walking around the outside of the car to get the little ones out, even with the doors unlocked.  GM vehicles CAN and WILL lock themselves on their own anytime and for no apparent reason.  That's right.  Say what?!

Yep, I learned this one the hard way today.  Kelly texted me this morning and asked what we were doing and if we wanted to come by to play and have lunch.  Sure!  Sounds like fun, right?  How much trouble can we possibly get into going 0.8 mile up the road?  I pulled into Kelly's driveway, jumped out of the car, and heard the doors click while going around the front of the car to get Kate out.  Hmmm...strange.  I had another set of keys back at my house so without much thinking I just jumped on Kelly's golf cart while she stood at the windows talking to Kate, John, and Matthew, and ran back to my house and grabbed my second set of keys.  I unlocked the doors and within about 10 minutes of the start of the whole thing I had Kate and Matthew out.  While I was taking Matthew into the house, I walked around the front of the car and heard the doors click AGAIN.  I looked into the car and noticed I had thrown BOTH sets of my keys into the center console, I guess since I knew for sure I had the doors unlocked this time.  S.M.A.R.T.  Apparently I have a horrible habit of throwing my keys into the center console while getting unloaded and didn't realize it until today...
So poor John was still in the car, and yes, starting to get upset.  I began to feel a little panicky...I called Joe, he didn't answer immediately, so I called our friend Paul who works at the fire department right outside the neighborhood.  Joe called me back within about 5 minutes and got Onstar on the phone for me.  Without going through all the gory details I'll just say thank the Lord for Onstar and for our awesome friend Paul.  We had John out of the car within minutes.  Also thankful it was an overcast, rainy day today...it was a little stuffy in the car but not baking inside like it could have been!
FYI....if you have a newer model GM vehicle it may have this "safety" feature apparently intended to prevent theft?  At least this is what the onstar guy told us...crazy.  I think I'll keep my keys with me at all times from now on...and keep my doors OPEN while unloading the car.
And I just have to add that I topped off this fantastic day with a trip to Publix after all the kids were in bed, stood in the checkout line with about 2 weeks worth of groceries for a family of 5, and realized I had left my wallet AT HOME.  This post actually should have been titled "Today's TWO Lessons."  The second lesson is, "Take your wallet with you to the grocery store."  I apparently didn't know this is how it works.  Yep, fabulous day.  Ha!!!
