Still doing well this week...just wanted to give a quick update. Don't think I have mentioned this just yet, but we have officially been told that we are having identical twin boys. Lord help us. This plot just keeps getting thicker and thicker. A few weeks ago my high-risk doctor had come in to talk to me and mentioned in passing that these were "monozygotic" twins. I asked what in the world that meant, to which she informed me that they were, in fact, identical. Though they are in 2 separate sacks, they do share a placenta. She told me that anytime there is just one placenta, the twins are considered "identical." I didn't think they could determine this until after birth, but turns out they can make pretty good predictions. She said she is 99.99% sure. We will know for sure at delivery. Just another little free tidbit of twin info...for those who were wondering!
Things are still stable with me. We are officially 29 weeks this week! It feels so good to be in the "safe" zone...or maybe I should say "safer" zone. If they were to be born tomorrow, the neonatologist has pretty much told us that they would be very likely to experience no issues and grow to be healthy little boys. However, we would be looking at quite a lengthy stay in the NICU, something we are obviously trying to avoid. The boys continue to look wonderful on the ultrasound every morning. My doctor will be back from Italy next Friday, so if all continues to go well, I am really hoping to head home once she returns. Trying to still take it just one day at a time, because things can change at any moment, but that's what we're hoping for. Believe it or not, the days do go by rather quickly. It is hard for me to believe I have been here for 4 weeks already (almost 5). I've had lots of visitors and the nursing staff have been so wonderful!
We are officially in our new house...so that is where I will be going "home" to. I was worried about how Kate would make the adjustment, but apparently she has done great! The first night in our new home Joe said she slept like a charm. It has been so hard to not be there with them! I am so looking forward to getting back to some level of "normalcy" in our home again (whatever that is!) and having everyone there happy and healthy!
Lay it down.

Oh my! IDENTICAL!?! How on earth will ya'll tell them apart?? lol! :) How exciting!! And just think of all the 'tricks' they will be able to play on family, friends, teachers, etc. I had friends in high school that were twins and they got away with a lot of 'switching' for test and stuff. TOO fun! Congrats on moving in to your new home. I bet it's beautiful!! Praying for you and family continuously! :)
