Update

Yes, I've been a blogging slacker here lately. These days when I do get the chance to get online, I find myself more interested in keeping up with everyone else's blogs than in spending time on my own! Guess I need to get a little more disciplined with it.
Well, things have been good lately. The past 2 weeks or so our little girl has just really blossomed personality-wise as well as physically! We have been having so much fun here lately. Six months is SUCH a fun age! It really only seems to get better and better the older she gets. The torticollis has turned a corner recently and she has started holding her head up much better. Along with that, the reflux has gotten significantly better. We've been reading up online on it some and it seems that the 2 can be and are often connected. Still spitting up some and still on the Prevacid, but overall spit up is drastically improved. At least for now. We took her for her 6 month check up and shots about 2 weeks ago, where they told us she is a whopping 75th percentile for weight! Weighing in about 17lbs. 14oz!! I just like to say she's "healthy." :) Still 50th percentile for both height and head.
We got back home today after spending the weekend in Perry with Grammy and Papaw. We had a fun time! Kate did so good in the car traveling...Joe and I tried to time things just right so she could hopefully nap on the way down and get her bottle once we arrived, same thing coming home. It worked quite well. Turns out we have a little traveler...she does great in the car. We enjoyed getting to visit with some family and friends, but boy was she glad to see her Jumperoo when we got back home. Check out this video:

In the meantime, still loving her stroller rides and still loving watching her sister Caseydog. Here are some recent photos we've taken. Along with being a blogging slacker, our camera was in the shop for some time so we don't have many photos to share either. Ugh! Horrible parents! But it's fixed now so hopefully I'm back in the game! Looking forward to another great week.

Mall Trip

Well, we braved the mall today. Kelly, Mom, Will, Kate, and myself all headed out around lunchtime to see if we could handle a little shopping. Kelly and I have both decided that there is strength in numbers when it comes to the mall with babies; and for some reason, if your baby has a complete meltdown in the middle of the mall and someone else is with you, it makes it all ok; as opposed to when you're by yourself and you have to totally make a run for it. Kelly and Will came to pick up Kate and me to meet Mom for lunch at McAllister's. We loaded up our matching strollers and car seats and headed out. Lunch was a success and even the first hour or so of shopping. But then came nap time. Will and Kate both LOVE their sleep and are pretty good nappers, but if they're not in their cribs or pack n plays, you're in for a real treat. Neither baby ever went to sleep...when the 3:30 bottle time rolled around neither of them had had a wink of a nap. A few meltdowns, little shopping in between, 2 diaper changes, new outfit for Kate, and 2 bottles later, we somehow managed to get both babies to sleep for about 45 minutes a piece or so. So off we ran...and Kelly and I actually managed to get a little shopping done! Woohoo!! We decided the trip was worth it for the few new articles of clothing we got. Will actually somehow managed to fall asleep on his tummy in the stroller with it fully reclined. When he woke up he started trying to scoot himself around and wound up pushing himself downward out the front of the stroller. Luckily by that time Kelly had emerged from Banana Republic just in time to literally "birth" Will from the stroller. It was quite a site seeing him push himself out the bottom (the part where the baby's feet hang out) feet first and Kelly waiting there with both hands to "deliver" him. Quite a funny site. Of course he was up from that moment on.
From there we headed back home to our house for quick cat naps for the babies (Kate complied, but Will had other ideas...). While his mommy ran home to get his dinner, he made a nice poopy diaper for Auntie. We fed the babies dinner, enjoyed a little take-out BBQ for ourselves, courtesy of Nana, then bathed them. Soon after the boys headed in from the golf course (what a great day to be out at Augusta National!!!) and we put the little stinkers off to bed. Don't think I'll be braving the mall again anytime soon with baby in tow. At least not solo.

Easter and Masters 2010

What a busy week! Masters is here and in between work and Kate and going out to the golf course there hasn't been much time for anything in between! We did make it to our 6 month checkup appointment this morning. Shots went well this morning...only a few tears there, but she got me on the way home. Poor thing. That has got to me Mommy's least favorite thing to do these days. Otherwise, Kate seems to be doing very well, growing like a weed (17lbs, 14oz!!!) and thriving at that. Reflux is still pretty bad, despite having recently changed her formula this past week. I really think it's just more of an aggravation for us, though, than anything. Before Prevacid, Kate really seemed to be uncomfortable and in pain with it, but now she doesn't really seem to be hurting. We just have to deal with the aggravation of constant spit up EVERYWHERE and changing clothes (ours and hers!) several times a day usually. But we've resolved it with ourselves and decided as long as she's not in pain we can deal with it.
She's doing great with eating...almost made it through all the major foods now! We haven't come across anything yet she really doesn't seem to like, which is great, hopefully we won't have a picky eater on our hands! She's still not sitting up on her own, but I think she's getting close. Her favorite thing to do these days is go for walks in the stroller. It is the funniest thing to watch...she just lays back in that stroller with her sunglasses on (Kathryn gave us the sunglasses...people in the neighborhood probably think we're trying to be all cutesy when we walk her around with them on, but we're really and truly trying to block the sun from her little eyes! And it's hilarious how she just lays back in the stroller with them on, never tries to take them off!!!) If she's fussy about anything in particular, we can load her up in that stroller and go for a spin around the neighborhood and all is right with the world. Good incentive for Mommy to get her hiney out there and walk every day.

Easter was a great weekend with family, good food, and GREAT weather. Here are just a few of the pics from the weekend:

Oh gosh, this last one is my new all-time fav. What a great shot of my whole world :) ...The only thing missing is Casey :(

Little Sprite

Kate loves her Jumperoo. This video from today was quite funny!

Grammy and Grandpa are here visiting for Easter! They got in today to join us for the weekend. We're going to have a big weekend...celebrating Easter and enjoying family. Joe is going to be baptized in church on Easter Sunday...been a believer for a long time, but was baptized in the Methodist Church when he was younger. Now that we're members of the Baptist church, he's making the public profession and will become an official member of the church. What a great day for it too. Thank you Lord for the gift of Your Son Jesus!
