Praying...and Lately

While I was in the hospital, I got into watching Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings.  I so enjoy his messages and have continued to since being home.  One Sunday morning I was watching (think I was still in the hospital) and the sermon was on parenting.  Too good to miss.  The whole message was fabulous, but near the end he really drove home the importance of praying for our children.  He said the two most important things to pray for when we pray for our children are 1) that they will know the will of God for their lives, and 2) that they will marry the right person.
I have really been trying to hone in on these two points while talking to God about my kids lately.  If my kids grow to seek and know the will of God, then what more could I possibly want as a parent?  Is there anything more important than that?  It sounds funny to even think about praying for their spouses as small as they are, but what a tremendously important part of their lives that will eventually become.  I pray that somewhere (if they are even born yet!) God is preparing those tiny hearts and bringing them up in loving Christian homes with parents who know and love the Lord.

On another note, what have we been up to lately?  Matthew and John will be 3 months old next week.  They are still tough little babies but we are definitely seeing some improvement.  But please don't get me wrong.  If I do say so myself, they are 2 of the cutest, sweetest little guys I have ever had my hands on.  They have started smiling, giggling, and cooing at us.  It is completely irresistible.  It makes those 3 and 4am wake up calls much more do-able!  I mean, so what if they don't sleep, huh?! :) This past week they hit the 12 week mark.  It has been quite the whirlwind 12 weeks.  Poor little guys, they have a very difficult time settling down for naps/nighttime sleep.  Once they do settle down, they have an even harder time staying there.  This has been the biggest challenge for us.  We have tried all we possibly know to help them sleep better, but haven't quite figured out that cure-all just yet.  We are praying it is something they will grow out of eventually...eventually.  Thankfully, like I said, we are already seeing some improvement!  Sweet boys...
Kate has been under the weather again this past week.  She began running another fever early last week and it continued all week long :(  She has obviously not been feeling very well at all, seeing as she just hasn't been her usual cheery, sweet self.  We did go see the doctor but it seems it was just an upper respiratory viral thing.  Praying we are on the mend this week!  Sickness is NO FUN!!!
I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner.  Fun times!  What a year!  I'm sure I'll say that about 100 more times before the year is over, but still...what a year!
