Our Big Girl

So this has been a big week for Kate.  At the beginning of the week she began sleeping in her big girl bed.  We went ahead and moved her crib down to the boys' room, seeing as they haven't been sleeping all that great together.  All that stuff I read about twins wanting to be close to each other has not exactly applied to our boys.  They move around A LOT for newborns and are pretty noisy, so I think they are keeping each other awake at times.  So we officially have both cribs in the nursery.  Kate also started "school" at First Baptist Mother's Day Out this week.  She has done so well, and we are so proud of her.  She has always had a tough time when we leave her, but she did exceptionally better this week than I gave her credit for before we went.  There were a few tears shed when I left her, but her teachers told me she recovered pretty well.  She even looked like she was having fun on the playground when I went to pick her up.  Hopefully this will continue to get better and better each time we go.
Another HUGE milestone this week...we have managed to give up the paci.  It was probably the best way to do it for Kate, seeing as it was totally unplanned and just kinda "happened."  Yesterday morning I had taken all her pacis downstairs after getting her up in the morning to wash them for her.  When we went back up for naptime, I had forgotten to bring them back up, so I figured this might be a good opportunity just to try it out.  I told her they were all downstairs and they were dirty, that I needed to clean them for her.  She just laid right on down like it was no thing at all, much to my surprise.  The ultimate test was last night at bedtime.  Joe went to put her to bed, and yes, she did ask for it.  He told her the same thing that I did...that they were dirty and we were washing them for her.  Not ENTIRELY untrue!  She was a little sad, but did lay right on down and go night-night without her paci.  Such a big girl...this is definitely the end of an era in the Todd household.  My baby is growing up :(

  1. She is growing up so fast!! I cut all of the nipples off of Jud's paci's and let him find them...he picked the paci up and said, "broke mommy" and then threw them in the trash and that was that! :) Now if we could just get Kaybeth to quit sucking her thumb!!! UGH!! It's SO hard!!! You can't cut that off! lol!!

Congrats on getting rid of the paci and sleeping in a big girl bed!!! :) YAY KATE!!
