Easter 2015

Easter was really fun this year.  The kids were more into the egg-dyeing thing, which I must confess has always been a favorite tradition of mine.  There's just something about pulling out the vinegar, cups, spoons, tablets, and Paas egg kit that brings me back to childhood.  Kelly and I used to get so excited over it.  Fun to see our own littles get into it too :)  However, while eggs and bunnies are fun and exciting, there is no greater joy than sharing with these little ones the concept of the death and resurrection of Jesus, and what it means for each of them.

Egg-dyeing can get a little rowdy in our house...

...everyone knows it's more fun to dye eggs naked.

Their creations :)

Charlotte had an Easter Egg Hunt birthday party and was so sweet to include us.  Complete with the Easter Bunny himself ;)

Kate and Maddox...sweet friends

The boys had a fun Easter party at school...fun snacks, crafts, and an egg hunt.

Such a great group this year

We woke up Easter morning shouting, "He is risen!" Sweet little voices were so excited running through the house celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.

Easter Sunday kicked off Masters Week this year.  Our church put in a little putting green in one of the grassy areas adjacent to the parking lot.

We had an egg hunt at Kelly's Easter afternoon/evening.  We were so happy the Haswells got to come over and hunt with us!

Random Winter/Spring Phone Pics

Grammy came to visit in February!  We took a trip to Artsy Me for some pottery painting.  Kate made a coffee mug, Matthew a bowl, and John a ceramic lizard. :)  It was busy, but fun! :)

John at the playground

We had some super super cold days this winter.  This was the first day of a long stretch when we were actually able to get back outside to play some.  They were thrilled to be outdoors...and so was I!

Kate's first time roller skating!  The K-4 classes at FBC have a skating party in the church gym each year.  This was fun, but a little chaotic considering it was the very first time many of them had ever tried skating.  She figured it out after a few tries/falls, and ended up loving it!

We took the kids out in the boat on Betty's Branch on a really nice, mild Sunday evening.

We had the Dants over for dinner one evening...sweet girls playing dress-up

This silly bunch after school one day :)

Kate and I went to the movies to see the new Cinderella movie.  We ran into some sweet friends!

Another warmer day!  We visited Savannah Rapids.  They were impressed by the waterfalls :)

Roar of Love 2015 & Tooth Fairy's First Visit

I have mentioned here before that Kate has been doing ballet lessons at Columbia County Ballet this year.  Each year in the Spring they put on the full production of "The Roar of Love" which is adapted from the story of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  This was our first year participating...so I was a little unsure as to what to expect.  So happy to say that we were blown away at how awesome the show was.  We were so proud of our sweet little Firefly this year.  She did a great job!

At home after practice one evening ;)

Parent night the last day of class

Getting to do ballet with Hadley made it even more fun!  She and Hadley led their group out onto the stage during the show.

The night before the production, Kate lost her first tooth!  It was super, super loose, but she didn't want to "pull" it out on her own.  Sweet girl got it out all by herself by moving it back and forth with her tongue :)

She was excited she had lost her first tooth....me, not so much :(  I was seriously emotional over this event.  She is growing up.  And I simply wish it would slow down.

St. Patrick's Day at FBC 2015

Another St. Patrick's Day Parade at First Baptist!  Oh how I have come to love this sweet little tradition there!  It has been such a fun thing to look forward to each Spring...for me and for the little ones :)

Sweet Mrs. Head

The kids were funny this year.  Their teachers told me this year there were more parents there to watch than any other time they could remember.  There were a lot of people there waiting when they opened the doors and the kids started marching out.  I think it overwhelmed the boys a little...when they saw me and Joe they started crying :'( so we just jumped on in and marched with them for a little ways, then they were fine.  Kate sort of did the same thing...I think it was a bigger crowd than they would have liked ;)
