Family Photos, Summertime, & Other Happenings...

This Spring we got together with Keaton to have some more family photos done.  I am trying to do this at least once a year while the kids are little.  It's not easy to get ourselves to do it.  Not really my idea of fun getting everyone dressed up just to hear whining and fussing and have a bunch of awkward shots of ourselves!  Ha!  Might sound harsh, but it's the reality of having pics made with kids! lol  Luckily this time she was able to get a few good ones.  Here are a few favs:

A few weeks ago both ours and Kelly and Billy's babysitters both needed the week off...Kelly's and Billy's to go to Youth Camp with her church, and Robin was helping with VBS at ours.  It just so happened that Kelly and I were both working exact opposite schedules that week...I was off on the days she worked, and vice versa.  So we decided we would watch each other's kids that week since we were both facing the same dilemma.  It was a rowdy week for everyone involved but we survived!  lol  Just look at these silly kids:

Peek-a-boo Joshy!

Sweet cousins

Love Joshua's face

Silly kiddos

Just a random shot of the kids before we headed out one morning:

It's not often everyone is dressed in coordinating outfits!  Good photo-op :)

As Joe likes to say, yes, we did install a pool for the summer:

$20 blow-up Target special! lol

They love it :)

Father's Day

We went over to Grandmama's and Grandaddy's to celebrate his 85th birthday.  Here are a few pics:

I love this shot.  It reminds me of my childhood.  Grandmama coming outside to call us all in from playing to come eat.  "It's ready!"  I love the look on her face and how you can tell Kate and Will are running fast.  Ready to go get the good stuff.

Poor Grandaddy.  85 years old and his birthday wish was hijacked by 2 three year-olds.  He didn't seem to mind though :)

Helping open birthday presents

Oh how we love this man

One of his gifts...all the great-grandbabies, minus 1.  Yes, that's right.  Kelly and Billy are expecting great-grandbaby #6 in December this year!

Ed-Venture May 2013

A few weeks ago we took the kids to Ed-Venture, the children's museum over in Columbia, for the morning.  What a fun place!  So nice to be able to turn your kids loose, they can pretty much touch any and everything in the place.  They really had a great time and so did we.  Nana and Papa came along with us.  Hope to go back soon!

So much fun!

Kate playing "dentist"

John and Nana playing in the water

Pure fun!

Matthew sliding

The grocery store was the biggest hit of all the exhibits, particularly with Kate.  She kept asking, "Can I go shopping just one more time?"

John grocery shopping

Daddy played cashier.  I'm telling you.  This was the cutest thing.  A real checkout counter complete with cash register and scanner that beeps!

Apple pie!

One of the cutest things she has been telling me lately is how she wants to be a mommy when she grows up.  Without me even asking her!  Precious.

A First

Today I got John up from his nap around 4:15pm and took him in to change his diaper like normal.  I took the wet diaper off, but somehow failed to place the new clean diaper on his hiney???  Where in the world my mind was is beyond me.  He went commando all evening until about 7:15pm when we were finding little puddles and sprinkles all around the house.  I suddenly noticed his pants were soaked, unsnapped his pants and realized no diaper.  I am starting to scare myself.  Of the 3 people who read this blog regularly, if this has ever happened to you please comment and let me know about your experience...please tell me I am not the only mom who has ever done this.  If I get no comments it's ok...I'll understand...just might feel a little worse.  Thanks.

Bless his heart, he was just as happy-go-lucky as ever.  He didn't care he had tee-tee all over him.

Random Phone Pics: New and Old

I just recently transferred all my phone photos over to my computer.  While I was looking through them I realized I hadn't included many of them here that I had originally intended to.  So here they are!

This was from a few months ago.  Bless his heart.  Bless Mommy's heart too.

New snorkel and fins from Bobby and Margaret...ready for summer!

St. Patrick's Day Parade at school.  Too cute!

Playing in the sprinkler (just last week)

Fun!

All that sprinkler fun and he finds the mud puddle to play in.  All boy! :)

Nate came to stay for a night on business a few weeks ago...he didn't mind book duty that night ;)

This pic is from way long ago...last August I think.  Jase Robertson came to Aiken to speak at a church for an outdoor festival.

We have had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  Saturday we drove to Columbia to visit EdVenture, the children's museum there.  Really, really cute and fun!  Will post those pics next.
