Feelin' Fall

The weather this summer has been pretty rough if you ask me.  It has been so hot and humid!  And BUGGY!  The gnats, flies, and mosquitoes are unbearable.  We had been getting pretty stir crazy in this household, so you can imagine how excited we were when things actually began to cool off, even if only a little!  One of the first cool evenings that we had, we slipped out onto the golf course for a little play time ;)

Daddy teaching Kate the golf swing

Matthew is walking EVERYWHERE now.  He walks with both hands in the air just like this, everywhere he goes!

NOT easy getting a shot of all 3 these days!

John kept eating the grass!

Hooray for fall!

Haircut Day

Today we took everybody for haircuts.  This was a first for the boys!  Katelyn did a great job cutting their hair.  They weren't exactly still targets!

Matthew's turn

Matthew on the way home...all that fun wore him out! lol

And the after:

I think they turned out so cute!  But yep, I'm a little biased ;)

Just an Update

We are officially in the midst of "birthday season" as we call this time of year around here ;)  We have been busy celebrating, and Joe and I are actually squeezing in a little traveling in the midst of everything.
Just this past weekend I snuck away for a girls' getaway to Chicago with my two best pals from growing up, Karen and Cameron.  We had such a great time!!!  I'd love to post pics of our trip, but oops, lost my phone while there, including all my pics, before I was able to get them backed up :(  I was worried I might not be able to enjoy myself because I'd miss the little ones so much, but (and no offense, guys, if you're reading this on down the road) I really did not stew over them like I had worried I would!  I did call to check in several times.  I was comforted knowing they were with their Daddy.  He had it all under control ;)  And Grammy was there to help.  I soooo enjoyed this much needed girl-time.  So good for the soul!
Here are just a few things we've been up to lately:

A few weekends ago we celebrated Will's 3rd birthday at Monkey Joe's:

Silly Matthew

Yep, we are walking.  Matthew is a little ahead of the game relative to John, but both are officially taking steps.  Matthew has taken about 10-15 consecutive steps.  Both boys still prefer crawling as a primary means of getting around ;)

I obviously have not baby-proofed our kitchen yet.  This is something I never really had to do with Kate!  The difference between boys and girls, I guess!  They are both lovin' some kitchen cabinets and drawers...heehee

Hanging out at the top of the stairs.  For now they think it's funny to be 'jailed' in...wonder how long that will last ;)

Meyur was in town visiting this past weekend.  We love it when he comes to visit!  Especially the kids.

This coming weekend Brent and Liz are getting married in West Virginia.  A big congratulations to them both!  I'll be staying back here to keep the kids while Joe travels there to take part in the festivities.  Also this weekend on Sunday, Joshua turns the big O.N.E....his party is on Saturday.  Good times!

Visiting, & Some Recent Pics

Two weekends ago my dear friend Jessica came to visit along with her precious daughter, Shiloh, and husband Nick.  Jessica and I met as freshmen in college and became fast friends, and soon after roommates.  We were in each others' weddings.  Whenever we get together, we are always able to pick up right where we left off.  Love this girl!  She was about to POP with Baby Rob, and since then has popped ;)  Robert Nicholas, Jr. was born Sunday, August 5.  So happy for her and her little family!  We were so busy catching up and visiting that we didn't even manage to get a pic of our two girls playing :(  Oh how fun it is to watch such a dear friend's girl play with my girl!  Brings joy to my heart :)

Ummm...how many people look this cute when they're this pregnant?!

Just some random pics from lately:

...and this.  But oh how I love trouble ;)

Playtime!

This was the boys' first time in the "car" at Publix.  They liked it for the most part...John wanted to get out about half way through our shopping trip.

Oh the joys of having a big sister!  I love how she's in the background admiring her "work!" Lol

The boys' favorite new toy?  The pink kitchen! lol  They could sit and open the cabinet doors and put things in them for hours.

7 years, But No Itch :)

Today is our 7-year wedding anniversary.  This happens to be the same bottle of champagne we toasted the night we got married.  Tonight while I was at Publix browsing the shelf I came across it and had to get it.  I went to Publix tonight after all the kids were in bed looking like sheer death and of course ran into 5 people I know.  Sincere apologies to those of you who saw me.  Especially my sweet husband.  He walked in the door after work today with a pretty bouquet of flowers and was met with quite a scary sight.  I apologized that after 7 years, 1 dog, 3 kids, a mortgage, and 1 giant car, this was all I had for him :( ...well, that, and the celebratory tomato sandwiches and chips we had for dinner tonight.  This is embarrassing, but the kids and I were upstairs playing in the bedroom with the closet where my wedding dress is, so I thought why not try it on just for kicks?
I took this pic and sent it to Joe.  I made him promise not to share it with anyone and now here I am posting it on the blog.  Hopefully I looked a little better than this on the day we got married.  Kate was really into the dress.

Happy Happy Happy Anniversary to my dear, sweet, wonderful, amazing better half.  I'd be lost without ya!
